
KUST Students Shine at NASA’s Space Apps Challenge 2025
We are thrilled to share that two exceptional students from Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST) have earned top honors at the prestigious NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2025, held on October 4–5 in Sulaymaniyah. This inspiring event was organized by the Kurdistan Students Association.
As part of this global innovation marathon, participants were tasked with selecting one of 18 challenges curated by NASA and crafting a creative solution within a tight 48-hour window.

- Mohammed Abubakr Tofiq — Team BirShad, 2nd Place, Computer Engineering Department
- Rabar Faruq Fatah — Team Crywolf, 3rd Place, Computer Science Department
