Abstract #12

There are many people who are unable to speak with others because of birth defects, oral disorders. or accidents. When a deaf-mute person
communicates with a normal person, the normal person finds it difficult to understand and demands that the deaf-mute person exhibit gestures to meet their requirements. In this project, a glove was developed that may be worn by those people who are unable to talk and can help them communicate by translating their needs from finger movement to text and voice and then displaying both text and voice by the help of a mobile application. The glove is equipped with various components such as Arduino Uno, breadboard, connecting wires, flex sensor and 10k ohm resistors. It identifies finger motions with the use of flex sensors located on the fingers the resistance of the flex sensor changes with how far a finger is bent, and this resistance is sensed by the Arduino, on the other hand sensor data is supplied to the Arduino UNO board for processing before being sent to the mobile application that can be installed on Android phone. The information that obtains will be in the form of text and voice using the TalkToMe application.
