Komar University held a workshop on LaTeX, today Monday, April 2, 2018, started from 09:00am to 12:00pm by Mr. Aree Ali from Computer Engineering department. Participants were from inside/outside the university faculty, staff and students. The following topics were explained.
- Pronunciation
- About LaTeX
- History about LaTeX
- LaTex editors
- Basic writings in LaTeX
- Advantages/Disadvantages of LaTeX
It was held in one of the computer lab. ShareLaTeX as one of the best online LaTeX editor was used. Firstly participants created their own account on that website. Most of the participants haven’t had any prior experience about using LaTeX. especially online editors. Also the importance of using LaTeX were mentioned over other word processing applications. When it comes to academic writings, textbooks, articles with high-quality, LaTeX is best option.
